Step 1 - How to create a crypto wallet

A Crypto Wallet is a virtual wallet that securely stores crypto currency and NFTs. One of the most popular wallets used today is MetaMask. Here’s how to create your own MetaMask account:

  1. Go to MetaMask’s official site: https://metamask.io/
  2. Click download and select your browser (Chrome, ios, or Android)
  3.  Select “Create a Wallet”
  4. Enter a secure password
  5. Write down your secret backup phrase in a safe location

Step 2 - How to buy Ethereum

Ethereum is the cryptocurrency that is used to purchase NFTs for Charity. There are many different crypto exchanges where you can purchase Ethereum. For this example, we will be using an exchange partnered with MetaMask called Wyre.

  1. Log into your MetaMask account 
  2. Click “Buy” 
  3. Click “Continue to Wyre”
  4. Enter the amount of Ethereum you want to buy
  5. Review Wyre’s terms and conditions and click “Next”
  6. Enter your payment information and click “Next”
  7. Double check information then click “Confirm”

Step 3 - How to connect to OpenSea & Buy your NFT

The last step of the NFT purchasing process is to go to a marketplace to buy your NFTs. NFTs for Charity are sold on the popular marketplace OpenSea. Here’s how to connect your MetaMask account with OpenSea:

  1. Go to OpenSea’s offical site: https://opensea.io/
  2. Click the profile icon in the top right and select “my profile”
  3. Connect with MetaMask
  4. Click sign in with MetaMask
  5. Personalize your OpenSea account by clicking the gear icon
  6. Buy your very own NFT!
